How to apply one effect to multiple tracks?

How do I apply an effect to multiple tracks? I wanna compress the whole instrumental separately from the vocals.

Two potential ways.

A send bus allows sending a portion of multiple tracks through one processor.

A group bus could be used to apply compression to multiple tracks as well.
I would probably use the latter for the described purpose.
