Hi,

You have to not only display the hidden Stereo Mix option, but also enable it via right-clicks.

What happens when you try? I can get it to work under Windows 10 with my internal sound card, but not when I'm using a UX2 as the default Windows playback device.

Internal Realtek soundcard.
When I right click on "display hidden" and ok, nothing new appears, just the internal mic.

Hmm, it might be audio driver dependent. You could try updating your Realtek audio drivers.

Yeah, I suspect its driver dependent. And I am not eager to mess with it on a new computer. Besides, not a big thing, in fact, very minor. There are other ways to skin this cat for now. 8)

For 20 years I have used, and still regularly use https://www.goldwave.com/ v good for recording "what you hear"
GoldWave is a sound editor, player, recorder, analyzer, and converter. Use it to create sound files for music CDs, dance programs, websites, answering machines, Windows sounds, and much more. It includes a complete set of effects and editing features for professional sound production. Create high quality audio CDs by using GoldWave with separate CD Recorder software.

Hi,

Most people are able to enable the Stereo Mix option.

RendCycle, do you want/need to record 5.1 surround? Or is the issue the inconvenience of having to switch back and forth between stereo and 5.1?
