Hey, I was wondering if it is possible to insert blank measure into mixcraft in the middle of a piece. I know you can highlight multiple tracks at once and drag them over as a unit to make space, but that doesn't move any of the envelope points for track volume/panning/etc., and doesn't move over tempo/meter flags either. I've been manually moving stuff over, but it's a bit of a pain, so I was just curious if there is a better way.
Thanks!
Inserting blank measures?

Do you have a set tempo? If you're using virtual instruments, you can simply insert a blank instrument track lasting a single measure to give you that space. You could do the same thing otherwise, but you would have to have the definite beat. You could probably do the same thing if you had the exact beat, just import an instrument track and snap the new audio files to the end of that for reference. Let me know how it turns out.(:
C/P a clip and delete all its notes. That will give you "blank measures." Alternatively, you can double-click to insert instrument tracks at desired measures - not inserting notes. Drag the blank instrument track to the desired point.
As to the above mentioned reference points. C/P the desired to be edited track and edit on that track! (ie: C/P track one; edit on track two). I would label it "Non-Destructive Edit." This will eliminate moving tracks over.

Hi,
Mixcraft 6 is slated to have an option that would allow you to "insert time." This would allow you to put a blank measure in the middle of a song.
Mixcraft 6 is due out in the first part of next year. For product update news, click "Like" on Mixcraft's Facebook page or sign up for the Acoustica Newsletter.

Hey guys, thanks for the responses! Yeah, the problem wasn't creating new instrument tracks or editing a track in a different spot, it was just that I had an idea, but then I realized I wanted it to be moved over to make room for a section before the aforementioned idea. The actual act of moving over the tracks (mix of virtual instrument and live recordings) wasn't a problem, it was just that it doesn't move over any envelopes (track volume, panning) when you do so, so you have to redo all envelope points manually again. But greg, thanks for the heads up on 'insert time' for mixcraft 6, looking forward to it.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
This is where C/P to the next track below helps as everything is duplicated. Btw, right click on a track and choose Duplicate Track if you rather not C/P clips. This is actually the better of the two options.FFBlue3973 wrote:Hey guys, thanks for the responses! Doing so, is another way to layer tracks (sounds) if you don't want multiple synths on one track. (Impulse + Mini Moog VA). I would recommend this method since you can manipulate the instruments' details. Again, it's just a preference.
