I use Windows XP SP3.
The user can choose 88.2 kHz in "options/setting" and, at the end of the recording, the very large file containing the whole album comes out as--and can be saved as--a 24 bit / 88.2 kHz file.
Yet from that 88.2 master file, individual tracks cannot be saved in 88.2, forcing a down or up-sampling.
Isn't this an inconsistency? If so, shouldn't Acoustica fix it?

The available recording sample rates are set by your audio drivers and as you've found, they don't necessarily match your sample rate options when you create the audio files. You could choose the next higher audio format if you wanted to preserve the quality setting, but that would make the file unnecessarily larger. Is there some reason you want the 88200 Hz sample rate in particular? I think you'll find that if you save it as a 48000 Hz wave file, you'll still have excellent sound quality.

Remember: SIA allows the user to choose 88.2 in the options section. Then, correctly so, it records the large master file at 88.2. So we are now past operating systems constraints: SIA did control the recording at 88.2.
The inconsistency comes next: while the big file (containing whole LP) is at 88.2, SIA offers no option to save individual tracks at 88.2. Why does the mother file (WAV 88.2), which contains all the tracks, make it impossible to save those very same same tracks as WAV 88.2? In other words, mother file is at 88.2, but children tracks can't be at 88.2.

Hi,
Because Spin It Again is getting the list of available recording formats from your sound card's audio driver. If your audio driver didn't offer 88200 Hz, then that wouldn't be on the list. Other users of Spin It Again might not have that particular option.
