Using Levelator

Post by Richard »

I want to apply "Levelator" to records with loud and soft spoken words. After the initial recording, I backup in Recordings, apply Levelator and have now the same back-up recording with extension .output. This one I load as Sound file and process.
Question: is the Sound file processed now the one "leveled" through Levelator, or is it the original Back-up recording?
(I have problems creating CD's after applying Levelator to sia files; the above procedures is thus up front, not afterwards).

SIA creates wave files as it records, levelator creates a new file with the original name, plus output.wave
If you do some renaming, you should be able to reload the SIA project with the newly leveled files.

Lets say you have a large wave file recorded that is named audio file 01.wave
Levelator creates audio file 01.output.wave

If you rename like this:
audio file01.wav to audio file01.wav.old
audio file01.output.wav to audio file01.wav

Your original is now safe if something messes up, and your original NAME is now the altered/leveled file.
Load the project in SIA and it should load the leveled file.
