Using SIA on Toshiba Satellite w/ Windows 10 - Unsuccessful

I have been using Spin It Again for years. I recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite S55-C laptop that has Windows 10. For recording it displays Microphone Array (Conexant SmartAudio HD). I have attempted to use my previous configuration (Turntable -> Preamp -> input line). But on the Toshiba there is only one input line that appears to have a dual purpose (head phones and microphone). Specs say: DTS Sound™ Headphone jack (stereo), Microphone input port/Headphone output port(shared), harman/kardon® stereo speakers. All I get is a lot of fuzz or static. Spin It Again doesn't pick up any audio coming in. Has anyone come across similar experience with a laptop?

Hi,

Most laptops do not have a "Line In" input. In that case, you could consider getting some kind of USB audio interface, like this one: BEHRINGER U-CONTROL UCA222.
