Low sound

I have had Spin It Again for about nine years now and have been mostly pleased with the product.
I recently purchased a new computer and tried to test out Spin It Again.
The recording level I'm getting into my computer is extremely low. I have all the volumes turned up as loud as they'll go, but it's still not a very good level.
I have everything plugged in as I did before on my old computer.
Is there anything I can do to boost the volume level for the recording?
I don't want to turn the volume on the stereo up much more than it already is, because it's pretty loud.
I should add it's a Dell computer with Windows 10. I read some posts that Windows 10 created problems. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.

Hi,

If you have the Creators Update to Windows 10, audio won't play correctly. If you can play audio with Spin It Again all the way through, then you must not have the Creators Update yet.

Spin It Again will record at whatever volume level you're sending it. What output are you using on your stereo? How is the output of the stereo connected to your computer?

I am using my headphone output from my stereo amp, plugged into the soundcard jack on my computer, which is how I always hooked it up before on my old computer.

I'm not sure if I have the Creators Update or not to be honest. My main concern so far is getting a good level coming in. On my older computer the input slider was somewhere in the middle where I could go up or down depending on the level. Now it's potted all the way up to 100 and the level is still low.

Hi,

If you are using the headphone output, you could turn up the volume on the stereo, just make sure you don't turn it too far past the 25% mark.

I can do that, but it's just very loud, too loud as far as I'm concerned when I do that.
What is another option for an output from the stereo to the computer?

Hi,

You just have to find the sweet spot. Don't turn it up that high if it's too loud.

I'll see what I can do. How can I tell if I have the Windows 10 Creator update?

Hi,

You'll know, because when you try to play audio in Spin It Again, you just hear the start of the recording and then it stops playing.

Microsoft is testing a fix, but we don't know when they will make it available.

OK. I tried a little test and that's what seemed to happen.
I'll keep checking back here to see if it's been resolved.
Thanks for your help!
