Check your recording and playback device settings in Spin It Again.

Thanks Greg! I'm going to quote your email for the record, hopefully it will help anyone else who has this problem, as it seems to have fixed the problem (I've since recorded three full LPs with no screeching noise):
Thank you for sending us your log file! It shows you have something called 'Microsoft Sound Mapper' selected as your playback device. That is not the correct setting. In Spin It Again, click on Settings and choose the Audio tab. On the Audio tab, change the Playback Device setting to a different option that will play audio correctly.
In my case, it was making sure that recording device was set to the USB codec, and playback was my Realtek sound card. Problem averted (and if it reoccurs, I can just go back to that setting).
