16 Bit Depth N/A On New USB Audio Interfaces For SIA.

Post by BobHelms »

I'm migrating SIA to W7. My existing USB Audio Interface (M-Audio Transit) will not work with W7 (no drivers, and none forth coming). I've used SIA to create over 15K 16-Bit 44.1 kHz .wav files that I then converted to flac. At my age I know that I truly cannot appreciate anything beyond CD quality audio. In my investigations of popular USB 2.0 Audio Interfaces I'm finding 44.1 kHz sample rates but no 16-bit depth just 24 and/or 32. I'm looking for advice and/or opinions on what (if anything) I need to do to make sure I can get Compact Disc Audio quality audio out of all those 15K tracks. I did change the settings on the Transit to 24-Bit 44.1 kHz and played back a few 16-bit flac tracks through Media Monkey, I could not tell any difference(s). So what do you guys/gals think? TIA for any help.

Hi,

Just go ahead and get an interface that records at 44,100 24-bit. That won't cause any problems.
