Restore Temp files ?

Post by comedians »

Hi

Had a crash and lost some audio not saved in the project folder.

Would anyone know if it's possible, as the files are all still in the temp folder, to restore from MPK ?

Thanks

Mixcraft Pro 7.

Ah think I've answered my own question ! MPK's are only pointers to the actual audio I guess.

Let me expand.

The project was recorded at 44k but I added more audio at 48K. Following the crash all but one file are in the project folder but when bringing them back into the project the 48k are completely out of sync.
Using Goldwave, (as an aside I've used since it first launched & have found it to a great manipulator for audio), and resamling them to 44k they are still out of sync.

Does anyone have an answer why that might be ?

It never pays to rush some things, often better to sit back and have little think instead of going into frantic mode & looking from the wrong angle.
After re sampling, moving tracks and after recording a new track which was exactly the same it became obvious it was nothing to do with any thing I've written previously...think...

All, now 4,audio tracks were in a Sub-mix, the issue was common on all 4 so move them out of the sub and they're ok.

The problem was the FX in the Sub track, "Izotope Breath Control" which of course reads ahead so I guess with the crash the rendered temp file was lost or corrupt hence non of the tracks would sync. Had I played a track from start to finish in the first place instead of trying to align it would have re-rendered the temp file putting everything back in place.

This is what I think happened, please jump in and tell me if there is another explanation.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all in Trump land :D - sorry to bore everyone.
