HOW TO IMPORT OMNI SAMPLER PRE SETS?
I have a large collection on samples on my preset in Omni sampler but when I open Mixcraft in another computer I can not access the presets. Every thing else on my project is saved but the presets. Any ideas??

Try looking for anything in this folder:
(type it into the address bar of Windows Explorer)
Code: Select all
%AppData%\Acoustica\Mixcraft\InstPresets

Hi,
The samples in the preset are stored here:
C:\ProgramData\Acoustica\Mixcraft\Samples
Unless you have Windows XP.

Wow, That was fast. Thank you everyone. Problem solved.
Re: HOW TO IMPORT OMNI SAMPLER PRE SETS?
Unfortunately, none of the answers work for me.
I have drum kit that is panned and edited within OmniSampler and saved as "808 kit". This kit can be found for each new project, but I cant find the actual preset file.
The usage of a mobile preset file has its obvious advantages. Any help appreciated.

Re: HOW TO IMPORT OMNI SAMPLER PRE SETS?
Hi,
It's a little tricky it seems for Omni Sampler. The actual samples are stored
C:\ProgramData\Acoustica\Mixcraft\Samples
But the preset definition is a little harder to locate.
Instead of here: %AppData%\Acoustica\Mixcraft\InstPresets
Look here : %AppData%\Acoustica\Mixcraft\FX
The Presets are stored with their GUID as the file names. You will have to find the appropriate GUID that matches your VST - in this case Omni Sampler. There may be more than 1. I'm not sure as I only have one preset for Omni Sampler and this method located the preset file.
To find the GUID, you have to look in the Mixcraft log file that's generated at starting up mixcraft. You can find the log file here %appdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraft.
If you do a search for Omni Sampler within the log file, you should find the GUID (the name of the preset file) a few lines lower. Look for the words "Loading Effect GUID" after you find the entry for Omni Sampler. It seems the presets for Omni Sampler are stored like effects.
Below is an example search of the log file on my computer. B5B3D2C0-7729-4FCF-B362-4913344E9547 was the name of the preset file in the FX directory. When I open the preset file in a text editor, I can see the "READBLE" name of the preset I saved in Omni Sampler.
The GUID file seems to be the actual preset file. I tested it by changing the name of the file, restarting Mixcraft and checking the Omni Sampler presets - it was no longer there. I then closed Mixcraft and changed the file name back, reopend Mixcraft, checked Omni Sampler and the preset was back. In general, the preset file contents aren't useable unless you know the file format and how the information is stored. And to be clear, the preset I'm talking about is the one stored in the VST drop down at the top of an open Omni Sampler instrument (see screenshot)

Re: HOW TO IMPORT OMNI SAMPLER PRE SETS?
Hi all,
I would love a portable file format for OmniSampler patches. It would be very convenient in all kinds of situations (like sharing).
To clarifty, I refer to a file (like a Word document or whatever), that contains all data (samples, vol, panning, etc) that can be stored/sent.
Does it exist?
Kindly, Fredrik
