Audio Interfaces: your experiences
Wondering what people have or had in the past and how they liked as I'm shopping. Looking low end but would be interested in people's experiences generally and what they liked or didn't w/the ones they've had.

Steer clear of 1st gen. Focusrites - go for 2nd gen.

Thx to both. Audient is out, IMO not worth the extreme diff in price. Focusrite have heard too many issues with drivers and hardware compatibility issues. Other than that pretty open. Mackie has a new AI with MIDI (a must for me) I am eyeing, also the Steinberg and M Tracks are in play, and Behringer.

SO happy with my Audient id14, I'm a guitarist so the jfet is very natural sounding, other pres are world class. And with ADAT I'm not going to have to worry about adding channels. Well worth the $299, you're not going to find many negative reviews, great product!

Re: Audio Interfaces: your experiences
Started out with a Lexicon Alpha, was not that great but got the job done. Remember having to fiddle with the settings a lot to compensate for latency. Then moved on to a Zoom R16, I still have for a backup. Never had any problem with it except at one point something on my computer was changing the sample rate automatically to 96k. It stopped but never figured out what was doing it.The control surface part was not too great but it would control the basics, fader and transport.
About six months ago moved on to a Behringer XR18 mixer/ interface. Love it, 18x18 USB interface, 16 Midas preamps, 6 Aux outs, midi in and out. You can send anything anywhere. You control it through software by wifi or ethernet. Have not tried wifi yet, I have it hooked up through ethernet to my old Daw computer. So I'm set for a while.

Has anyone used the Roland Rubix?
