Future possible Melodyne ARA integration in Mixcraft ?

Post by Ian Craig »

Hi,
I am using a trial version of Melodyne Studio and have already got the license for the editor version, which I may be able to upgrade to the studio version before the price goes back up at the end of the month (maybe).
I am just wondering of the Melodyne ARA DAW integration will be implemented in the next version of Mixcraft ?

Hi Ian,

I am confused by your question, maybe I misunderstand though.
Mixcraft 8 Pro Studio has ARA Melodyne integration now.

I have no personal experience yet, but from what I understand the upgrades from the included Essentials edition integrate into the ARA function/application as well, and the only limitation I am aware of is that the multi-track editing function in the upgraded versions of Melodyne are not supported in Mixcraft.

Heres hoping for future versions though!
Stay in tune, Mark

Hi Mark,

my reading of the manual over the last couple of days suggested that the ARA integration was evidenced by the available track mode (that is available in the, hidden, Standalone version). Obviously there is integration there to a high level anyway, but the difference between the Editor and Studio versions seems to be entirely about this multi-track capability. It doesn't really matter as it's an impossible to use cpu hog in the standalone version anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter 8)

Hi,

As Mark pointed out, we already have ARA integration, and that's how Melodyne can show up as part of the Sound tab.

But what we don't currently have is support for Melodyne track mode. That's a feature suggestion. Thanks for the suggestion!

I hear that there is now an ARA 2 specification. Is that the same thing as Melodyne track mode, or something else? Does Acoustica plan to jump on that bandwagon?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure it's the same thing, but there has been some mention of an upcoming "upgrade to ARA functions" from Melodyne themselves, but little detail to what the specifics are.
I do hope that it includes all the programs that have incorporated Melodyne ARA and I hope this is another sign of good things to come.

I jest merge all the clips to create my own 'track mode'.
