New Video
Hi all,
The music began on 5th October 2016 (in Mixcraft 7) and got finished here on October 24th 2018. It began as a sequence played by 4 different virtual instruments (Corona, Blooo, UVI Digital Synsations Bass & Tal Uno LX) put through 2 instances of MConvolutionMB reverb with an instance of GSpace in between them. It sounded so good that I had to work it into some usable form, so here it is. I added some VSM, M-Tron Pro, Minimonsta to it during October 2018 and created the ending to it also.
The video is made entirely from Time Lapse footage I recorded about 2011.

Re: New Video
Wow Ian, the music may not be "my thing" but the depth in the soundscape is an accomplishment IMO.
Very nice. Mconvo and GSpace eh...…. Have to take a closer look.

MConvolutionMB!!! Yesss!!! LOL!!!
Sounds great on my PA (especially the last part with the deep bass i.e. amazing on two subs.).
You're certainly a master (no pun intended) at this genre (whatever it may be!!! LOL!!!).
Regards,
Dale.
P.S. You seen the "EZ" version just released i.e. MConvolutionEZ??? Sure it can use the same IR's. Was a bit "cheesed" by their email though i.e. "we're giving it to you to say thanks for your long time support blah, blah, blah" but it's FREE to EVERYONE!!! LOL!!! What's up with THAT I ask you??? I'm paying an arm and a leg for all those plugins and they "give" me a FREE plugin??? LOL!!!

Re: New Video
Alright, help me out Ian-
I seem to recall seeing the GSpace title somewhere, in an advert or something.....
But a search isn't finding anything. Who makes it? Where can I find info?
Etc. and stuff......
Oh, and I think I would simply call it "Ambient Electronic" @Dale.

Yeah, I agree, a lot of what I do (including this) would be called 'ambient electronic'. But I also do horrorscapes, soundtracky things, progressive 'make the hair stand up on the back of your next' rock, Jazzy Progressive rock fusiony thing stuff, soundtracks for films and tv that don't exist, Metallic death Rock, etc. etc
GSpace is here - https://www.gvst.co.uk/
I know, but hey, you can't expect the best software developer in the world to also be the best communicatordpaterson wrote:No problem.

It does take the IRs but it has no modulation capabilities so it's bugger all use to me (it would have been no use in this track, for example)

Re: New Video
I get the impression by your music that you are a schooled musician because your compositions are so well put together. Am I right?Ian Craig wrote:TheHound wrote:I could listen to your music for hours.

Re: New Video
I am self taught, I just know what I feel and during the last couple of years I've acquired lots of Vsts/Vstis and spent most of my time learning how to use things appropriately. Unfortunately it sometimes takes years of thought to figure out the endless sweeps of processes to achieve the right sound (rather like a child learning to speak). I think I've recently, finally got to a point of being able to do things the way I always imagined them, but it takes a powerful computer to get any kind of reasonable work flow going. I struggle on, but now dazzling everyone who cares to pay attention.TheHound wrote:I get the impression by your music that you are a schooled musician because your compositions are so well put together. I went into with preconceived ideas on how to mix and process. I did live sound for a while and I played in a lot of bands. I also did some mixing on tape. Digital is a whole other world. It's probably a matter of taste but I tend to like the sound and the mixes of older music that was recorded on tape. When they get remastered to digital they sound even better. I'm a huge T-Rex fan.
Because I'm and old fart, most of what I've listened to was on vinyl and then CDs. It was great music of the 60's - 90's with most of it being recorded on tape. It is interesting to me that the Beatle's Sergeant Peppers was recorded on 4 tracks.
I think you will find this interesting. This is Sergeant Peppers deconstructed to its original 4 tracks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-wXZ5- ... -wXZ5-Yxuc
