vielklang2 and Mixcraft

Post by HeapDestroy »

JCFAX81 wrote:Hi guys,

I’ve recently downloaded a vst called Riffer by Audiomodern and I can’t get this to play in Mixcraft.

I’ve set up a virtual instrument track with riffer and a soft synth from Mixcraft on, but when I press play I get no sound and riffer doesn’t start.

Any suggestions? Supposedly this can work in any daw but the manual only has instructions for ableton, logic, and Cubase.

For example in ableton it says to set up 2 tracks (one with riffer and the other with a soft synth) and route the midi....but I have no clue how to do this in Mixcraft.

Thanks
John
Im on the same boat... I bought a similar vst called vielklang2 its a harmony generator.. And yes I did route to track before... The problem is that the manual doesn't apply here because Vielklang2 is managing the midi not the mixcraft track...
Its very disapointing because vielklang was released on 2010... I was expecting you guys to have this already figured out... I was about to buy the audiomodern riffer thank god i didnt..

Hi,

Vieklang2 is working for me. Here's how:

1. Put Vieklang2 on a virtual instrument track.
2. Open it up and load an audio file.
3. Put some notes on the virtual instrument track.
4. Play the project.

In regard to Riffer, you could try it with build 415 of Mixcraft and see what happens.

Greg,
Are you able to drag and drop your audio track into Vielklang 2? If so, how? I’m not able to do the drag and drop method.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Hi,

No, I clicked on the little folder icon and loaded it that way.

Thanks Greg. That’s what I’be been doing. Maybe one day we’ll be able to drag and drop like shown in their video.

Thx Greg but this solution only work with audio file format like a wav, mp3, etc..
It stilll doesnt work if you feed it a midi file.

Hi,

Vieklang is not designed to work on a MIDI file, you have to load audio files into it.

You add Vieklang to a virtual instrument track, then it reads the MIDI that's on the track and tweaks the audio file you've loaded into it.

Have you tried that?

Yes, but on they're product description in https://products.zplane.de/ it states "Harmonize your audio or MIDI melody with one single click and create natural-sounding background choirs and brass arrangements. "
The midi output is silent and there is no way to route it.

I have been cheating my way doing what u suggested compiling my midi to audio file and loading the audio to Vielkang2 -> editing -> exporting back to midi, but according to Vielkang2 this should work effortlessly with just a matter of routing.

Hi,

Have you tried placing a synth right after Vieklang on the same track? Any MIDI output of Vieklang would go into that synth.

This solution worked on the VST2 but not the VST3... Thank you Greg, you saved me loads of time!

Hi,

This is how Mixcraft routes MIDI from one VSTi to another. It's so simple, a lot of people don't know it's there.

Great stuff Greg, I Appreciate it!!

Is it possible for you to verify if the same thing can be done using VST2 from audiomodern Riffer?
Best Regards.

Hi,

Riffer seems to work differently. It seems to pass the MIDI notes along unchanged, while also generating its own. There is a trial version you can try.
