I'm thinking about getting a Akai MPK249 keyboard controller... Does anyone have one, your thoughts? :?:

My Akai MPK-249 was delivered today. The Akai MPK-249 doesn't have a Mixcraft mapping preset (I sent Akai a message asking them to add Mixcraft to their product presets ), so I'm in the process of manually mapping it to Mixcraft 8. So far I'm really impressed with the Akai MPK-249... It's awesome, and it should really help me speed up my work flow. 8) :D

Congrats! New gear is always great to get! Glad you're getting on with the mapping, a bit tedious but pretty easy.

I'd just suggest to familiarize yourself with the software that it comes with. Down the road if you add other devices you may have to make some changes with cc# assignments, definitely good to know so you're prepared.

Thank you. I haven't downloaded/installed any of the software yet, I'm still learning how to work this thing (I don't know how the Program Change button works yet, etc, etc) and what I want mapped (I have the transport, loop, faders, and knobs mapped so far). I do wish it had a few more assignable toggle/latch buttons. The keys feel good. :)

Okay I downloaded/installed the included software... Now I have more virtual instruments/sounds than I'll ever need, it's going to take a lot of noodling to decide which ones I like, lol. 8)

Congrats! This is such a great MIDI controller. Versatile for the studio or for gigging. I specifically love the pads on this keyboard and think that they are some of the best pads.

There are some great tutorials you can find on Youtube that will help with mapping, but it's pretty simple on this keyboard!

Cheers!

Yes, I'm loving my Akai MPK249 too... Have you been able to get your MPK249 (with using VIP) to work with Acoustica Virtual Instruments?

Hmm, okay I just watched the video, but it doesn't seem to cover Akai's VIP 3.1.1 software. I'm having problems getting VIP to work with Acoustica Virtual Instruments.

Please see my thread https://forums.acoustica.com/bbs/viewto ... =4&t=24267 and if you can help me I'd be very grateful. Thank you

PS: I have the Akai MPK249... Do you have the Akai Advanced 49 (as shown in the video), or a MPK249?
