Okay, this is what I get for having every version of Mixcraft installed. The InstPresets in ProgramData is circa Mixcraft 5.

More recent versions sensibly store it inside your Acoustica Mixcraft 8 program files folder.

MetaPresets is where effect chains are stored.

Yeah, I imagine that's hard to keep sorted and you're probably required for legacy users support.

The thing about Acoustica Instruments, Acoustica Expanded Instruments, and Studio Drums is that they don't have an interface, they just have presets. So they are different from most plugins.

Okay, thank you Greg.

John from the Akai Forum helped me, and after many hours (days, lol) of giving it my best shot, I believe you're correct... Non-standard VST programming isn't compatible with VIP 3.1.1. However... Pianissimo, Pro Studio Reverb, and 31 Band EQ, work with VIP.

Oh well, I gave it my best shot, and I learned a lot too.

I love my new Akai MPK249 controller... And I can still control Acoustica Mixcrraft 8 instruments, presets, knobs, faders, transport, and etc without VIP.
