Re: How to Center?
You most likely had your audio interface set to Stereo (Input 1+2) when you recorded your guitar tracks. Before recording a guitar track click on the little Arrow next to the Arm button and scroll down to your audio interface and make sure that it isn't set to Stereo (Input 1+2) and select the input that your guitar is pugged into on your audio interface. You can move the track balance knob off center to help center the track... But it's best to correctly setup the tracks before recording.guitbuddy wrote:Hey all,

Sorry, I was editing my reply post while you were posting... You can pan the track balance knob to help center the track... But it's best to correctly setup the tracks before recording.

Re: How to Center?
Hi,
If you try to center with the balance with your track as is, the one side has the guitar and the other side has no audio recorded, you will get a reduction in the level of the guitar sound. The sound won't move to the other side. I don't know if Mixcraft allows a stereo track to be separated into 2 mono tracks. I would have to check the manual.
You could also try to play the track and record to a mono track.
Hope this may help.

Re: How to Center?
Man, its been a long while, but IIRC-
Right click on the audio waveform portion of the track and select properties/channels
See what's available there.
There's other possible options, but I seem to recall this works for correcting this recording mistake.

Re: How to Center?
Hi Mark,
I just checked, and now Im a bit confused myself.
On my mixcraft -On right click, I get properties > channels [ _x_stereo > __ Left channel > __right channel.]
THE STEREO IS CHECKED.
So its seems I may be okay ? , but all my mp3s I made were panned
hard either left or right.

Re: How to Center?
Ignore that part of my image. Its a mono recording, recorded properly.
Which side is your track recorded/playing on? Try selecting that side instead of stereo.

Re: How to Center?
Actually, now I remember- you asked the same recording/panning questions a long time ago didn't you?
Might want to search your posts for that thread and review the suggested solutions.

Re: How to Center?
Yes there is a level reduction, but it moves to the other side in MX8... Pan the balance hard (all the way) to the opposite side, then slightly back towards center. But as I said above, it's best to correctly setup the inputs before recording.Drdish007 wrote:Hi,

Re: How to Center?
wow, guess I didnt follow the advice -- LOL.
I went in a different direction - downloaded a bunch of STEREO VSTS.
Some of those work, some strangely cause more problems.
