MX 9 Workflow Suggestions
After working intently with MX9 for a good few weeks, I’ve come across these workflow issues.
Would be great for consideration for future updates.
1. The ability to toggle auto rewind to start on or off (maybe a shortcut key?) Useful when recording takes (on) but often need it off when fine editing as I’m zoomed in and need the cursor in the vicinity of the edit (which may be halfway through the song). Currently have to go back and forth in prefs to rectify this.
2. An option to set ‘use project tempo’ in the sound tab as default. I slow down the overall song to get difficult passages right when recording, then bring them back to speed by changing the BPM. Selecting all clips, then setting ‘use project tempo’ in the sound tab works; but if I do a second take, that take defaults to ‘time stretch’, throwing it out of tempo with the rest of the clips.
3. An option to autosave – maybe in variable time increments – say every 3, 5 or 10 minutes? Yes I know you’re prompted to save on exit, but I like the ‘belt and braces’ approach.

Trevor,
Could you use the perfomance tab for point 1?
For point 3, maybe Ctrl S ?

Mmmm - not seeing how the performance panel would work for point 1?
Ctrl S-ing all the time - maybe I was just spoiled by Reaper

Re: MX 9 Workflow Suggestions
I accomplish number 1 by turning off auto rewind to beginning in preferences and using a midi controller button for rewind to beginning by using the midi learn function. Do you not have any type midi controller that has a spare button hooked up in your setup?

Good Morning,
Mixcraft automatically creates a marker at the beginning of the track, so if you have your marker list (View >> Marker List) open you can instantly play your project from any marker, including at the beginning.

Hi,
Also, Ctrl+Spacebar plays from the next marker and Ctrl+Shift+Spacebar plays from the last marker.
Here's one I hadn't noticed before: Shift+Space plays the sound tab, not the main transport.
