How to do multiple copies
I am new to mixcraft 8. I love it but am having issues finding a means to do multiple copies. Here is my issue, I have recorded one bar of music and want to copy it 20 times from bar 2. In Cakewalk the last DAW that I used there was a dialog box that allow you to input where to paste your copy and how many times you wanted that bar to be copied. So you can type in 20 times. In mixcraft I can't find this dialog box or the means to input how many copies I need. I am stuck with manually copying the single bar 20 times. Very time consuming.

Just grab the end of the clip and pull it right while holding mouse button. Or you can just copy and paste.

You don't have to copy 20 times - only paste. CTRL + V. I do it all the time, it's actually quicker than using a GUI.

Hi,
Rolling Estonian's suggestion is a good one.
If that doesn't work out for you, you can also hold down the Alt key and drag clips to duplicate them.
But Ctrl+V is also a rapid fire way to paste clips.

Re: How to do multiple copies
the feature estonian mentioned is awesome—definitely need to try that out.
in other DAWs where you don’t have features like these (Reason, for example), you can copy/paste once, then select both the old and new clips, copy/paste those, and so on (1st copy/paste gives 2 clips, second gives you 4, then 8, then 16, 32, and so on). it’s still not nearly as user-friendly, but if you need lots of copies it’s still much quicker than going one at a time.

If the clip is a loop, or "on the grid" etc. In many cases anyway-
There's a little button at the left upper corner of the clip.
If for example, the clip were a measure, you could push that button four times and its four measures.
You could then if you wish- merge those four measures.
Push the little button again and its 8 measures long.
Of course this doesn't always work out to be the best solution- depends.
But other methods are also pretty simple to learn and use....
