micraphone not working! NEED help >.<

Post by Moh214 »

Alright, so i just recently bought a AKG D5 micraphone from Guitar center for $100, and it's great.

but i'm having a huge issue, i record with Mixcraft 4, but i can barley hear anything.

And i have Vista, so i go to my recording devices and turn the gain up to +50 DB, and i can hear myself better, but theres static. So i turn it up to +100 DB and it's perfect, but sooo much static!

i've been searching online for a while now and i really can't find anything to help me! i need to have good sensitivity for the mic, so i can be heard loud and clear, but not get static!

this is very very frustrating so please, any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

How do you have your AKG D5 mic connected to your computer? What do you have selected in Mixcraft for your recording source?

Are you using Mixcraft 4.2 build 100?

I have my mic connected with a Microphone Impedance matching transformer.

and the mic source is my 'frontmic'

and yes it is Mixcraft 4.2 build 100

If i could either figure out how to stop the static, or atleast remove it using an fx, that would help out.

Hi,

Try switching to the back microphone input.

Hi,

If you've got the microphone plugged into the front of your computer, try locating the microphone input on the back of your computer. It may be color-coded pink, or it may just have a microphone symbol next to it.
