Hi,
No news. There probably won't be a fix for this until Mixcraft 9 comes out, and we're probably a year or more away from that at this point.

Actually, this *is* news. Just not the news we wanted to hear. It sounds like the fix will be major surgery rather than patching a few relatively isolated lines of code.Acoustica Greg wrote:Hi,

Re: volume boost?
Can anyone confirm whether or not this problem has been fixed in Mixcraft 9? Thanks!

Re: volume boost?
How did you test it? I tried it with Ferox Tape Emulator in mono mode, and I didn't notice a boost (with v9.0 build 462).
This should be fixed in build 431 or higher.

Re: volume boost?
I'm in the middle of something else right now, but I'll try a few of my mono plugins when I can. Thanks.

Re: volume boost?
It's fixed in Mixcraft 9. I reinstalled Mixcraft 8 and did a direct comparison.
But, Greg, ToneBoosters Ferox is a stereo (or dual mono) plugin, so your test didn't prove anything. The fact that it has a switch to sum to mono internally has nothing to do with how many inputs and outputs it has.
There are several ways to find out how many inputs and outputs a VST plugin has. I used Reaper's tool for mapping inputs and outputs to the channels of a Reaper track. Some VST hosts -- for example PluginGuru's Unify, Akai's VIP3 and Cantabile -- include this information in their plugin databases, although you have to search for it in a file because it's not displayed by the program itself.

Re: volume boost?
I also read the bug report that said it was fixed way back in build 431.
