Piano Roll paste problem "Notes may be pasted at the current Caret location."

I am trying to copy all the midi notes and then paste them on the piano roll one octave above (so the melody will be in octaves, simultaneously).

I can copy them all, no problem, but I cannot figure out how to paste them where I want. The Help File say "Notes may be pasted at the current Caret location" but I can't figure out where that is or how to control it on the piano roll. When I click "paste" it seems to add the melody to the end of the piano roll (in effect looping the whole thing).

I want to be able to paste the melody on, for example, the A4 note on the beginning of the roll so that the melody, the rest of the paste, continues from there towards the right.

Help?

Hi,

Huh, I see what you're saying. That's not how one would expect it to work.

You can hold down the Alt key and drag the selected notes to duplicate them, which is what I normally do in that situation.
