mix down to mp3

Post by hpharley90 »

I have a about 10 tracks composed of electric bass, guitar and drums. I use studio pro 9 64 bit.
How can I mix down to mp3 just the tracks and length of tracks that I want so I can send mp3 to friend?
The bass and drums are good. One track for drums and two tracks for bass. But I have 6 tracks of guitar track takes. I want to send a friend a mix of bass and drums and just 2 guitar tracks. When I mix down to mp3 it does all track. Not what I want.
Thanks

You should really mix down to wav, better quality by far. In file go to mix down to stems, all your options are there.

MP3 tracks wont synch back up properly.
As recommended, you shouldnt use MP3 format for multitracking, only mixdowns if small file size is the priority.
Stay in tune, Mark

or if it's just specific tracks, place them above each other, highlight as shown then mix down (file format) and check the box 'Use selection'

Thank you. that is what i needed. I said mp3 but i meant .wav. I have to send in e-mail mp3. wav is too big. I was drinking some Fortissimo. Specific tracks is what was needed.

I call them tracks. Is the proper terminology stems?
In video editing we call them tracks, either audio or video tracks.
Thanks I'm a new B!

They're tracks until you mix down, then they become stems. In terms of sharing you could use any free service like Dropbox.
