Having asked my son which 3 things would improve his workflow when using Mixcraft. He replied

1 Structuring

The option to
A- Choose a note value
B- Choose from a list of scales
C- Choose from a list of chords or chord sequence
D- Enter the bass note on the piano scroll and Mixcraft automatically writes in your chosen elements

2 Spectral positioning

The option to
Pan up/down/left/right/near/far on individual Mixcraft tracks

3 Mastering

The option to use a
Limiter built into the eq section of the output fader of Mixcraft

bigaquarium wrote: Fri Mar 12, 2021 4:32 pm In honor of the rumblings about MC 10, here's my first of the allotted three suggestions:

1. A totally integrated and customizable hardware mapping system including:

a. As many protocols as possible including MIDI note, CC, MMC, program change, and SysEx, Mackie, NRPN, PRN, etc...

b. Scenes, layers, and control sets to enable context-based functions.

c. ASCII keyboard custom shortcut integration, treat the keyboard as any other MIDI input device in the same menu and interface.

d. Export hardware profiles to sharable files.

It has rightly been said that there are too many hardware devices on the market and it would be impossible to support them all natively, so my suggestion is to give the users the maximum amount of tools, protocols, and functions so we can make the hardware profiles ourselves and share them with each other and through Acoustica. Simply make the list of available protocols and functions as large as possible and we will do the rest. Also a great way to add custom keyboard shortcuts without developing a whole separate system for that. Scenes and layers will allow MIDI controllers to scroll about Mixcraft just as with Ableton or Bitwig, such as scrolling through the performance panel.
I agree with all your suggestions especially MMC and shareable hardware files.

More flexible track/buss routing. Like most DAWS with the 2 dropdowns for IN/OUT.
Route audio from one track into another ect. Multiple channel interfaces with internal routing could better be utilized.Send, output and AUX tracks are great but are limited in flexibility.Image

Better IN/OUT routing.
Better IN/OUT routing.

On the mixer panel I would like to be able to hide the mixer preference panel to allow another mixer panel track to be seen. Also I would like to be able to hide Preview track which I don't use.
I would like key board short cuts to over ride everything. I'm tired of having to click on panel to get home button active. Key board short cuts should over ride everything.

thank you

Would be nice if you could quantize multiple tracks at once (outside of the sound tab) as well as do cross fades on those multiple tracks at once. When quantizing drums, the tracks need to be grouped together so that when quantizing, all tracks are split and shifted together to eliminate phase issues.

Give me the option that when the end of the last track is reached, i.e. the song is over, MC stops playing. Currently it keeps cruising along its merry way for who knows how long, despite nothing whatsoever to play. I get sometimes people might find this useful with fade-outs or whatnot...but this is almost never the case with me. Surely I'm not the only one who runs into this? Again we should at least have a choice.

Another suggestion:

Multiple projects
I think it would be sweet if you could open up multiple projects and then copy from one to another.

I'd like to see more minimalistic and modern flat interface, backup auto-saves, user customice keyboard shortcuts and fullscreen view mode.

Hey,

after just over a month of use, i would really miss a button to choose from Recording or Mixing.

The recording mode would automatically turn off all plugins and could quickly adjust the buffer or latency of the sound card. In Mix / listen mode, everything is on and the latency is up to one second.

Is this impossible or why is it not? Mixcraft, for example, has an unnecessary zoom knob, although everyone today has a convenient zoom with a scroll mouse.

Hello, this is my first post on the forum. Excuse my vocabulary, I don't know English, I translate with "deepl".
The first thing I would like to say is that mixcraft is the most intuitive DAW I have ever known, with some impressive features. Its simplicity has a lot of value and it should remain so because it is unique and original, a charm!!!.
When using it, I thought... if I had this on every channel? https://dmgaudio.com/trackcontrol it would be even more unique. And if in the transport bar the VU had the K-12, K-14 and K-20 option, plus phase correlation and panorama.... I'm drooling at the thought, I don't know of a single DAW with all those useful options.
All in all, I will soon get the "recording studio" version, that's all I need.
Regards.

I've got a simple one that would save me some time.
Mixing to a new audio track should preserve the color of the original MIDI track.
Also, there should be more colors... or a hex wheel.
