Hey guys
Can't find anything in the manual - Is there any way to save a MIDI clip as a MIDI file to a folder?
Mixing to stems only allows it to be saved as an audio file.
Thanks!

Re: Save MIDI Clip?
It is a tad cumbersome, but I believe I did that once by deleting everything else and then did a project export to midi and then just quit the app without saving.

OK that will work - thanks gaffster!
Mixcraft, we need this option please. Maybe right click the clip and 'save as' midi file.
With the release of EZDrummer 3 yesterday, there's a new feature where you can import any midi file and it will match a beat to it.

Re: Save MIDI Clip?
If you have a track with multiple "midi clips" but only want to turn one of the clips into a midi file just add another instrument track and copy the clip to the new track. Select and solo the track ( i usually also mute all other tracks ) and then from the File menu save as Midi File. Then afterwards you can delete the new track.

Re: Save MIDI Clip?
Just found another solution
Mute everything else and then File>Save As MIDI File.
Mute everything else and then File>Save As MIDI File.

Re: Save MIDI Clip?
The easiest thing would be to solo the track and save as MIDI.
GovernmentMule was assuming you wanted to do just one clip (as opposed to everything on the track).

Re: Save MIDI Clip?
I can't figure out how to add or copy an instrument track. When I click on "add a track", Acoustica adds a virtual instrument track.GovernmentMule wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 8:46 am If you have a track with multiple "midi clips" but only want to turn one of the clips into a midi file just add another instrument track and copy the clip to the new track. Example, I start out with 8 midi file tracks. I want to move or copy say, track 2 to a new track, say track 9, I don't get an exact copy on track 9, I get a virtual track, and not the original instrument track.
If I preload Acoustica to start up with 16 Instrument tracks, and load a midi file that contains only 8 tracks, 8 tracks will be instrument and 8 tracks will be virtual instrument.
So I guess the question is, "How do I add an instrument track, without the default virtual instrument track "

Hi,
An instrument track and a virtual instrument track would be the same thing? Unless you mean an audio track instead of an instrument track?
You can duplicate a track exactly by right-clicking to the left of the track and selecting Duplicate.
