Waves plugins incompatible with Mixcraft? Crashing each time

Post by FluMusic »

I'm trying a few Waves plugins out and each time they do not load and crash Mixcraft. Mixcraft finds the plugins no problem, the .dll files are found, but each time Mixcraft freezes while trying to load the plugins. I'm seeing posts from 2016 online about Mixcraft not supporting Waves ...is it still that way? Is there any way Mixcraft can load Waves stuff successfully? Would love to try some of these effect plugins

Alright I think I got it working. Had to do some workarounds and it seems none of the VST3 plugins work, only non VST3

Hi,

Do you have Mixcraft 9.0 build 470 installed? If not, try that.

If it's happening with build 470, the next time that happens, quit Mixcraft and send us your mixcraft-log.txt file.

To find the mixcraft-log file, highlight the following line and press Ctrl+C to copy it:

Code: Select all

%appdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraft\
Press the Windows Key+R to pop up the Run box in Windows. Click in the Run box and press Ctrl+V to paste in the line from above. Finally, click OK to go to the location of the mixcraft-log.txt file. Submit an Acoustica Support Request and attach the log file along with a brief description of the problem.

I've got a couple of Waves plug-ins and the one that is most problematic is C4... it will often be reported as
problematic, not all the time but often enough to become a bit frustrating. I generally delete it from the FX
and then add it back in ans save.
M-Audio BX5 (pair)
Mixcraft 10.5 PS / EZDrummer3 / Sonicake Matribox 2
Ryzen 5800X / 32GB DDR4 / 1TB NVME / RX6800

Does this mean that build 470 will work with Waves v9 if all VST3 plugins in the project are changed to VST2?

That seems very likely.

But people have updated Waves and that has also fixed the problem.

Yes, it worked. I just loaded my last MC8.1 saves, removed the offending Waves VST3 plugins, and it all functions as normal again.
