How To Imitate Rickenbaker Guitar Sound

Post by botface »

Maybe a bit specialised for a general forum but as the title says I'm wanting to get that classic Ricky guitar sound from my Strat for a couple of songs. I've messed with Eq, Chorus and various pickup combinations and while I've got some nice sounds they're not close to the real thing.

I've looked for simulation plugins but while there's loads of amp sims out there I haven't found any that simulate actual guitars apart from a sample based VSTi that was quite expensive. Has anybody got any suggestions?

It is going to be hard to simulate the real thing because of the body, neck, wood, pickups etc.
But if I was trying to do what you are trying I would check out this effect by BlueCat Audio.
It is a pickup and body simulation plugin.
It also has a demo so you can check it out first before buying.
