Song Feedback Welcome

Post by ppayne »

Here is a new song I'm currently working on. What you thinking about this mix? All feedback is welcome. I'm not sure about the bass volume right now.

Bit much in the low end but it's a tight mix. Could do with being a bit brighter and bringing out the cymbals a little more. But it's a great effort.

I did also thinking that it could be a bit dark overall. The guitar is a bit out of timing sometimes. I have to record it again.. I will try to bring your thoughts in and make it a bit brighter. Thanks for your feedback!

I'm really interested how it sounds on different studio monitors from some other guys

Nice one Patrick!

Just for the record, although I have an old set of Behringer monitors, I always do my mixing and mastering on cans (Sennheiser HD650's) - far more trustworthy in an untreated room.

I find the bass to be just slightly dominant but, in my opinion, I like it: maybe because I'm a bass player. :D
The drums sound a little robotic with the snare a tad loud. Were these programmed or live?

The rest, including the vocals and harmonies are great. 8)

I think it sounds super professional, and contemporary. I really don´t have any complaints.

Thanks for your feedback Trevor.

The drums are made with ezd. The fact that you ask speaks for ezd :D

Yes, you and Mr. Mxy are right about the bass being too fat. I've also heard the same thing from other people.

With the snare, it might be because I highlighted that one. Was maybe a bit too much

Let's see if the cymbals come out better when the bass is reduced.

Btw. The voice isn't mine, I wish it was mine  I make the music for him just for fun.

Thx for your feedbacks :D Here are the result, if you are interested about how important your feeback could be for us:

Special thanks to:

@Trevor - You had 100 percent right with the snare, some single parts were absolutly robotic and you're also right because the bass. Many thanks!
@Mr.Mxyzptlk - You're right with the lows and and also with the cymbals and with give it a bit more highs. Many thanks!
@My father: He told me the same with the bass plus the bass were a bit blured. Many thanks!
@some other guys: they didn't heard anything bad and liked it as it was :D

Further feedback is of course welcome!
