New song....

Post by M@rkus »

Hi all,

Hope you´re all ok!

This is my new song, called "1982", and yes it´s about that specific year, but mostly it´s about a sense of loss and longing. The lyrics are in Swedish, and it´s dedicated to my only remaining friend from that time. My three best friends from 1982 have all passed away, and the song is about that I´m in some ways still miss them, and miss the innosence and curiosity you had when you were 19 years, and just about to take on the "adult" life...
I think you know what I´m talking about...

Nice production yet again Alex. I liked the 'duo' guitar solo, and those drums sounded great. 8)

Thank you, trevlyns! I always appreciate your comments :D .
Yes, I like to have two rythm guitars that can complement eachother. Also with the harmony sologitars, sometimes I play the same solo, sometimes another harmony.

It's a very hyperkinetic and energetic song. Sounds good. The mixing and mastering are good as well. Congrats!

I really like the feeling of this one - and the multi-guitars. Really nice.

What (or who) are you using for drums? If they are programmed, well done, sir.

Thnk you for your kind comment!

Yes, the drums..... For many years I used "Addictive drums" and that was such a huge improvement compared to what I used earlier. Bur after 7-8 years with AD, I found they lacked that "human feel", and my songs never "lifted".

A little while ago I rediscovered a whole lot of drum loops I had on my computer. They are rather old (2008), and I don´t remember where I got them from. These loops are really, really good. Some of them recorded without metronome, and they really have that "human feel".

So now I´m only using loops. Of course there are pros and cons with this. With AD I could create exactly what I wanted, which I can´t with loops. With loops it´s back to the old "cut-and-paste" method, and also I sometimes adapt to the drums rather than the other way around, and that´s also challageing and fun.

So, for the time being I will stick to the loops. Thanks for the question.
