Hi,
If you're using 64-bit Mixcraft, avoid using 32-bit plugins. 32-bit plugins run in a 32-bit shell when you use them in 64-bit Mixcraft, and that takes extra processing. When you look at a plugin in Mixcraft, you can see whether it's 32-bit or 64-bit in the plugin interface's title bar.

Good to know, thanks. That said, all of the classic fx plugins built into Mixcraft are 32 bit. Yet, I never have trouble with those. Is it just the more complex 32 bit plugins that might cause issues?

Hi,
The Classic effects are legacy effects, and installing them is optional. If a 32-bit plugin requires a lot of processing, then it will of course use more CPU, but any old 32-bit plugin requires a separate shell program to run, and Mixcraft has to communicate with every 32-bit shell program/plugin that gets launched.
That said, if it's not causing you any problems, don't worry about it. This tip is for people looking to optimize because their computer is bogging down.
