Kjaerhus plugins - pls tell me they aren't bundled with MC
...because apparently the guy was busted for pedophilia years ago. I ask as they are available as FX to me but I did not install nor see them anywhere in my plugin folders.I'm not 100% sure of the story, so FWIW. I do know there are other plugins I can use and these never will be by me

They certainly are bundled with Mixcraft under 'Classic' plugins.
They can of course be disabled by unchecking them in Prefs> Manage Plugins.
I can find no association with pedophilia on Google though...

Very, very old news.
It's freeware. Really old freeware. Was "bundled" log ago.
Ancient, out of date freeware. Zero support for the original publisher.
Ancient history.
If it troubles you despite all that somehow, don't install them.
It really is that old, and that simple.

As I generally use and like the "classic" plugin set that came with Mixcraft, I can't "not install" them.
Trevs thanks for the disabling thing, forgot about that.
Re a reference to this, search on "Kjaerhus pedophile" and it should pop up.

Re: Kjaerhus plugins - pls tell me they aren't bundled with MC
I stand corrected on my previous comment about finding no reference to pedophilia, thanks Mixguy.
As Mark says, the plugins are very old - I recall them from when I started on version 5 and I have never used them. But I shall definitely be disabling them on a matter of principle.
As a matter of interest, for those who are also concerned, Classic plugins are used in some of the standard Mixcraft FX chains. Might do well to check

Guys. Freeware.
I am not remotely defending, but-
A: The developer is paying his debt to society as far as I can tell.
B: There is no benefit to him in any way if you choose to use his old and outdated product.
C: IIRC its all old 32 bit stuff. So there may be even better reasons it is long overdue to migrate into the 21st century.
Seriously. I share the outrage for the crimes. But the moral posturing accomplishes nothing at this point.
It is very old news. Punishment has been served. Or not. Nothing will change it now.
Trying to clean the path would be like refusing to listen to Gary Glitter on the classic rock station.
"Ooh! Turn that off!"
Accomplishes nothing with the exception of making you feel better about yourself perhaps.
Old, old news.

Re: Kjaerhus plugins - pls tell me they aren't bundled with MC
Hi,
Yes, they were freeware. We made those plugins optional in Mixcraft 9, so they only get installed if you choose to install the legacy plugins (they are all really old 32-bit plugins). If you don't want them, uninstall Mixcraft and then install again without installing the legacy plugins.
Why do we even still have them as options? Because removing them completely would mess up thousands of existing projects where they are still in use.

Heard you the first time. Irrelevant.
He could be in a cold dark cell for life and not pay his debt IMO.A: The developer is paying his debt to society as far as I can tell.
Never said there was. You miss the point.B: There is no benefit to him in any way if you choose to use his old and outdated product.
Again, heard you the first time. And again, the quality of the plugins are irrelevant.C: IIRC its all old 32 bit stuff. So there may be even better reasons it is long overdue to migrate into the 21st century.
Your responses frankly make me wonder. I'm not saying you condone it of course, but your somewhat dismissive attitude I find curious.Seriously. I share the outrage for the crimes.
It wasn't to me. Excuse me.the moral posturing accomplishes nothing at this point. It is very old news.
Yeah I don't listen to that POS either. Again pardon me for "posturing." If you want to rock out to the music of a pedophile and rapist, whatever.Trying to clean the path would be like refusing to listen to Gary Glitter on the classic rock station.
