Do I just open and close both programs and pull the log file as I don't get any crashes or anything?
Hi,
Yes, that would work.
Greg
Think I've figured out where the discrepancy has arisen. Mixcraft 9 shows the 64-bit versions of apps when installed, which I would subsequently disable (hence the 204 disabled VSTs). However, Mixcraft 10 does not appear to list them. See images below:
Mixcraft 9
Mixcraft 10
1. Why does Mixcraft 10 not include the 64-bit versions of the VSTs?
2. What's the difference anyway between the 64-bit and VST 3 versions?
Those VST3 plugins are all 64-bit versions as well.
Okay, looking at your log file again, those duplicates are in a folder where 32-bit plugins would go. If you load one of those in Mixcraft 9, does it say 64-bit at the top, or 32-bit?
Mixcraft might not load a 32-bit version of a plugin if you've got the 64-bit version of the same plugin.

I just reenabled one of the 64-bit versions and opened it in Mixcraft 9:
What's the difference between the 64-bit and VST3 plugins? And which one should I be using?
If the scan folders are the same in 9 and 10, why is Mixcraft 10 not picking up all the VSTs?
They are VST2 plugins and the VST3 plugins are VST3, of course. Maybe they aren't showing because you disabled them in Mixcraft 9?
Anyway, if the VST3 plugins are working well for you then you're all set.
Greg
No, that's not it. I've just re-enabled one of the 64-it VSTs in Mixcraft 9 and it's still not showing in Mixcraft 10. So you don't have a definitive solution to the problem?
I guess the only comprehensive solution is to compare each version of Mixcraft 9 and 10 plug-in lists and see where the discrepancies are. Bit of a pain.
When I look at my plugins, I see I do have both the VST2 and VST3 versions of various plugins loading in Mixcraft 10, so it's not a general issue. Do you see two copies of other plugins?

No, they show up in 9 but not in 10. I've had 9 and 10 open side by side and compared the VST directories folders and they're both exactly the same, so I don't understand why Mixcraft 10 is showing 200-odd less VSTs than Mixcraft 9?
So the only thing now is to compare the actual instruments and effects lists. I can check for my main ones but I don't want to be in a position when I go to use an instrument or effect and it's not there in Mixcraft 10. So, best to troubleshoot from the get go.
Is there a way to print/download the entire instruments and effects lists from Mixcraft?
