V10.1 VST3 unusual behavior

Post by Guaresneider »

Some VS3 synths are mysteriously opening in the upper left corner of Mixcraft and it is impossible to drag them down because only the lower corner of the synth window is displayed. This behavior does not happen with version 9, do you have any idea what could be causing this bug?

Hi,

Which build do you have?

Which plugins?

In Windows Display settings What is the scale setting?

You could also try

View > Center all Windows

See if that aligns the VST3 so you can at least use it.

Thanks but it does NOT work with that option, and not all of them, for example the Roland VST3 series open fine, and Warlock by Tone2 but Korg, Avenger and others hide up there, what could it be? Since it doesn't happen with Mixcraft v.9, something has been touched in the code... that has messed up the view of the VST3s.

I see from your screenshot that the menu is covered. The suggestion is a workaround.

Before opening the VST3 try setting up a hot key:

File > Preferences > HotKeys > View

Look for "Center All Windows" and click on the + . Add something like CTRL + ALT + C.

Now open the "bad" VST3 and try the Hotkey. Does it center it on the screen? If it does, then move it with the mouse. This will lock in the position. If you don't, while this project is open, if you hide and show it again it might revert back to the old position. Moving it with the mouse after centering it will keep the new position.

Hi,

If you go into Windows Display settings, what do you have set for your Windows scale setting? Does this problem happen if it's set to 100%?

Yes Greg, this is a glitch that they should adjust from Dev, but I don't know if they can find it under the hood, as I don't know how many users could replicate it. This happens only under MXC v10 since v9. it doesn't happen. It didn't happen with the first version 10 I installed. This happened after the patch you made to the version.

Dude, I have the latest version, the button says update because it is the update of the languages that is not relevant here.

Hi,

It is happening with your Windows display scaling set to 100%? Is that what you normally have it at?

If you go into Mixcraft's Display preferences, is Mixcraft itself scaled at 100%?

They mention a demo version of that plugin in the FAQ, but I can't find it. Is there a demo version I can try?

Hi,

I'm getting the same thing here. I contacted the maker of that plugin and let them know. It must be designed for high-resolution monitors or something.

It also seems to do the same thing with the VST2 version, so it's not a VST3 issue.

Hi Greg, the Avenger v1.8.5 synth view problem has been fixed after I installed the update "Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5029351)".

When I open the VST3 it is centered and everything is fine. Thanks for your help in resolving this, appreciated! :D
