Export To Image File

Post by oceanblvd »

In the past I have used the 'Export To Image File' feature in Acoustica CD Label Maker to convert my front or back cover to a higher DPI image, which I'll insert on top of the PDF label that normally gets printed out. I send my files to FedExKinkos. When I've done that in the past, the image remains the same size as the dimensions of a CD insert! I did this a couple days ago, and Kinkos said the image arrived on their end as 81/2 x 11 and printed it as such. Obviously not going to work as a CD insert. How do I 'Export To image File' and maintain its aspect ratio as a CD insert size for printing?
Back Cover dimensions: H 4.64"
W 5.9"
Thanks.

Hi,

Which DPI setting did you choose when you exported it?

600 DPI.
Couldn't send the BMP file because was larger than the attachment limit in Outlook, so I sent JPG instead, to Kinkos.

UPDATE: Still not resolved. I sent the 'Export To Image File' JPG back cover to Kinkos for printing 3 different way, and all 3 had the recipient receiving
an 8 1/2 x 11" JPG, and not CD back cover size, which is approximately Height 4.7" and Width 5.9". I sent the 'Export To Image File' images to Kinkos the following 3 ways:
1. Using their website and uploading photo and sending.
2. Emailing Kinkos directly, attaching the photo to email.
3. Sending to Kinkos via WeTransfer, for large files.
In all three cases, the back CD cover I 'Exported to Image File' was received NOT as a CD insert size, but 8 1/2 x 11.
If I send Front and Back CD covers as PDF, by any of the above methods, it's received as 4.64 x 5.9, which are the proper dimensions.
Can't figure this one out! I also sent via WeTransfer as 300 DPI and 150 DPI, and had the same issue.

Is Kinko's accidentally resizing it or something?

I sent that same JPG to TWO different Kinkos locations, and the three different methods I mentioned! Both locations stated that they received it as an 8 1/2 x 11 and printed it as such. The PDF created from the 'Print' option in the software is always sized correctly and printed out correctly when sent in to Kinkos. It's only that 'Export To Image File' JPG. Strange, huh? As a matter of fact, both locations told me they charge between $7.50-$10.00 to RE-SIZE an image sent to them! Uhhhhhh, no thanks.
Do I have to pay for the updated Version of the software, or is that a free upgrade? I still have my original Activation Code.
