Greetings.
The headline says it all.
I practically never use Melodyne, and this is by far the program module that takes the longest time upon loading.
I tried to deselect it in the "organize plugins" menu entry, but this does not change anything.
Thanks.

Not at home PC but can't you just uninstall Melodyne?

I don't know. I did not consciously install it.
But this is unelegant. I may need it some day.
Maybe one of the staff can chime in.

To un-instal, right click on the Windows start icon and go to Apps and Features. There you can un-instal Melodyne.

Hi,
Uninstalling is the way to do it. You could uninstall, see if it speeds up your loading time, and if the difference is minor, you could install it again.
When you see the start screen pausing on Melodyne, it doesn't necessarily mean that Melodyne is holding things up - it might be the next process that occurs after Melodyne loads, whatever that may be.

No, that solved it. It starts up lightning fast now.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: [Solved] Can I prevent MX9 to load Melodyne upon starting?
There's no need to uninstall Melodyne. Just start to uninstall it and you'll get various options. Just choose the "modify" option and untick the vst3 box. Melodyne will no longer open in Mixcraft but will still be installed on the computer. If you need it later just do the same again but this time tick the vst3 box and you'll have it back in Mixcraft again.
Edit: Once installed I used the original Melodyne setup.exe file to access the various options, not the add/remove programs list.

Re: Can I prevent MX9 to load Melodyne upon starting?
Thanks Frantiac. Thats exactly the solution I was looking for.
Unfortunately I have already uninstalled it. According to Greg I could install it at any time later, but I never purposefully installed it.
I cannot remember if I ticked something during installation, I think it just was part of the MX9 pro package.
I don´t need it right now and I enjoy the dramatically faster start-up, but for later: is there a separate installer?
Are you being asked during the installation process, if it is a VST3?
Thanks again.
Edit: Melodyne 4 appears to be part of the MX9 Pro installing bundle. I do not find it separately. The company has meanwhile moved onto V5; I downloaded some V.4 from a software portal, but it seems contaminated by whatever; W10 blocked the installation. That said, it only offered
VST2 - which is VST. It was renamed to 2 to distinguish it from the newer V3.
However, I crank MX9 a gazillion of times and I enjoy the vastly reduced loading time.

Re: Can I prevent MX9 to load Melodyne upon starting?
I'm using Mixcraft 10 now but I seem to remember that there is a Melodyne installation file in the main Mixcraft v9 Program Files folder. Maybe you could use that, not only to reinstall Melodyne, but to modify later as per my previous post.
Also I'm pretty sure that Melodyne will be updated automatically to the improved v5 once you've installed v4. Also for convenience I used my Melodyne credentials, which will be listed on your Acoustica account page, to go to www.celemony.com and download a personalized standalone v5 installer.
Hope this helps...
