M10 SOS!!!

Post by clivea »

I have a problem with Mixcraft 10.
When I record a guitar with a backing track, my guitar is out of sync.
Please listen to the brief sound file attached.
Has anyone any ideas as to how I can fix this?

Hi,

If it's at the right tempo, but just not on the beat, you can reduce or turn off the snap setting at the top of the screen and move it so that it's back in time.

If it's at the wrong tempo, select the audio clip and look at it on the Sound tab. Over on the left, is it set to Use Project Tempo? If not, you could try that.

You can also hold down the Ctrl key and drag the end of the clip to time stretch it a bit manually.

If the tempo is not consistent, you could try warping / auto-warping the clip on the sound tab. Or splitting the clip and positioning as needed.

Hi Greg,
My Snap setting is always off.
I've tried selecting Project Tempo - with no change.
I shouldn't have to time stretch the clip - never had to do it before and shouldn't have to do it on everything I record.
Something has caused it to suddenly go like this.
Can't think what's caused it.
Maybe a reinstall is the way to go if it cannot be sorted eh!

Take care.

Hi,

Snap can be helpful if the clip snaps to the beat.

If you just move the clip right or left, can you get it to line up with the beat properly?

Yes, Greg.
I've successfully moved the guitar track to match the beat.

Hi,

Okay, then maybe you're dealing with some audio latency. If you go into Mixcraft's sound device preferences, what do you have selected as your playback device? Which mode are you using WaveRT, ASIO, or Wave?

Hi,

Try ASIO or WaveRT mode and you'll have lower latency. ASIO should be best, but if that doesn't work well for you, you can also try WaveRT.

You could also try downloading and installing the latest driver from Focusrite: https://downloads.focusrite.com/focusrite
