Stem not working

Post by Bronzeage »

Without repeating all the above I've just installed MX 10.5 Pro 596 and the "Stem Separation" option is not available.

Re-installed etc still not showing.

We're looking into this. There seem to be a few different things going on.

Note: stem separation components were missing from a bunch of accounts and that's fixed now. Templates were also missing from some accounts, and that's fixed, too. People just need to install the new updates.

--> The Stem Separation option doesn't appear in my track pulldown window either.

I have 10.5 build 596 installed. Should I reinstall Mixcraft 10.5?

There's an update reminder for Melodyne 5, which i haven't installed. Hope that's not an issue.

i also still have Mixcraft 9 installed too. Is that an issue? It's never been before.
Lance

PS i have mountains of old band tapes, dating back to 71, that I'm anxious to try the stem separation on. :-)

Thanks for the replies guys.

I did do a factory reinstall last night,
but still no stem separation option in the track popup window.

I have 2 computers I run Mixcraft on,
but the 2nd one stays offline.
(that’s why I haven’t tried the recent 10.5 upgrade on it yet.)

Hi,

Please go into Mixcraft's General preferences and select Upload Log Files, then let us know when you've done that.

Hi,

Thank you. We're gathering data on this issue, and will hopefully figure out why it's not working for some people soon.

Greg,
The Stem Separation
would not install on my older i3 laptop, but..
It "DID INSTALL" on my newer i7 laptop. Yay! :D

—-> I just noticed the new i5 Win10 min requirements
That was my problem with my older computer.

:( When I clicked on the Update on my older laptop, the 3 stem separation installs did not appear.
:D But on my newer laptop, the 3 stem separation installs "DID" appear in the update popup window.

**** Holy crap, this stem separation is amazing!!! *****

--> Is Acon Remix in the Acoustica Store an upgraded version of Acoustica's stem separation feature? I’m hoping the programmers can add more instrument stems in the future.
***In my case I need the guitar AND organ (B3) separated.

Hi,

Acon Remix is an unrelated product from another company called Acon Digital. (They do confusingly have a product called "Acoustica," but that's not us.)

Mixcraft 10.5's stem separation feature requires that the CPU supports AVX instructions. You can google the name of your computer's processor to see if it supports AVX. Your Mixcraft log file shows the name of your CPU.

If you select "other instruments," does that give you the organ sounds?

Thanks for the reply Greg,
The "other" puts guitars and organ, non piano keyboards, together.
I don't need absolutely everything separated, but would like to see an organ separation stem added to the list.

But glad to have the capability that's currently there, and use it!
