How to remove "touch response" fron my midi keyboard.

Post by Loux13 »

Many years ago I used to use this product back when it was Mixcraft 4. Loved it then. I'm currently using the free edition of Mixcraft 10 and I can't seem to remove that "soft touch low key" feature from my midi keyboard. The midi keyboard itself does not have the ability to turn it off so that all my notes are defaulted to a set volume regardless of how hard I smash my keys.

That legit is the only thing holding me back from buying the full version.

Thanks for the help!

Hi,

The piano roll has a default velocity setting that goes from 0 to 127.

It didn't work.

Here is what I did step by step and perhaps I missed something...

>> from the top menu bar I select "SOUND"
then "ADD INSTRUMENT CLIP"

>> scroll to the bottom where it says:
PROJECT | SOUND | MIXER | LIBRARY | STORE

>> select SOUND
and where it says "VEL 127" I set it to the lowest setting which is "1"

Then I begin to record but it still has "touch response"

Hi,

Okay, you should set that setting back to 127 or something near that.

What kind of keyboard do you have, exactly?

I played around with the setting and can't seem to get it to disable.

I have a USB AKM350 - Midiplus

Hi,

Is it an AKM320 MIDIPlus? Does it have a user manual? Did you consult that?

Have you tried contacting MIDIPlus?

There may be editor software that you can run for your keyboard that would allow you to change that setting.

I figured it out.

I'll leave this here incase it helps someone else out who doesn't have any dynamic or velocity settings on their midi keyboard.

What I did:

OPEN Mixcraft 10
NEW project
(5 audio tracks auto populated)
ARM and record your track.
Once done and you stop recording at the bottom select sound:

project >>SOUND<< mixer library store

In that new window, select either the PIANO or STEP tab (not score).

Then in the bottom you'll see a tab with a drop down arrow and it might even say (VELOCITY (NOTE).

click on the drop down and select VELOCITY NOTE OFF.
below that drop down tab is another drop down tab.

HIGHLIGHT all the notes you want to edit first then click on the tab and select "Line"

*********
I definitely had to take a few extra steps which feels unnecessary but then again, had I just bought a more expensive midi which has a velocity switch on it, I'm sure it would bypass all this.

I hope at least one other person finds this helpful 😉✌️
