sudden latency issue

Post by lordmullin »

I say 'sudden' because this never happened with v.9
With v.10 I'm getting a real problem with latency, both with virtual instruments and with audio input.
I've tried changing Asio/audio/buffer settings, including in the UMC control panel, but nothing seems to work.
Help! Thanks everyone.

Hi,

Do you still have Mixcraft 9 installed? If you try it right now, does it have lower latency than Mixcraft 10? If so, make a note of your Sound Device preferences in v9 and set Mixcraft 10 to match.

Thanks Greg - yes, I still have 9 installed.
I ran it and checked the settings - exactly the same in both 9 and 10.
ASIO default/preferred settings.
I recorded the same brief piano line to check both versions.
9 came back perfectly - 10 came back all 'broken' and crackly.
[I noticed cpu/system were both higher in 10, than 9.]
Cheers :)

Hi,

Restart your computer and try it with Mixcraft 10 again. If the same problem happens, quit Mixcraft 10 and send us your Mixcraft10-Log.txt file.

To find the mixcraft10-log file, highlight the following line and press Ctrl+C to copy it:

%appdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraft\Logs

Press the Windows Key+R to pop up the Run box in Windows. Click in the Run box and press Ctrl+V to paste in the line from above. Finally, click OK to go to the location of the mixcraft-log10.txt file. Submit an Acoustica Support Request and attach the log file (and dmp file if there's a new one) along with a brief description of the problem.
