Downgrading Mixcraft 10 license

If I buy a Mixcraft 10 license, can I use this license for Mixcraft 9?

I have been using my brother's old computer with a MX9 purchased license on it, but now he needs it back and I've got a new computer and want to buy a mixcraft 9 license, but only can purchase MX10 on the mixcraft website.

I have tried a demo of Mixcraft 10, but the workflow and compatibility with my existing plugins is poor and I don't want to spend the time to change everything, it's too tedious.

Compatibility with plugins has actually been improved in Mixcraft 10, and we think we added some nice workflow tweaks to version 10. You may just need to get accustomed to the layout.

What kind of problems are you having with plugins? We fixed a bunch of issues between 9 and 10.
