Mixcraft does not register keystrokes during playback

Have you ever had the problem that the space bar stops working while playing tracks in mx? This happens periodically and I noticed it in the early builds.
It's not just the space bar. When I press “set exact volume” and in attempts to raise/lower the volume (pressing “+” and entering any number on the keyboard), the program also does not register pressing these keys. It doesn't happen all the time, but only from time to time.
This is definitely not due to bad keyboard operation, for the other keys work normally at this time. It feels like sometimes the program doesn't register pressing some keys during playback, so I have to restart.

That depends on which controls on screen have the focus I think. If you have a vst open, the keystrokes go into the vst plugin. I don't think there's any other way, because EZ Drummer for example or other plugins also react to the space bar.

I always click on the window title at the top a plugin, then mixcraft grabs the keystrokes or I use my MCU via Midi to control the daw.

The keystroke in vst only happens when I use the search inside the plugin. In that case the spacebar only works there. But I have it happening even when all plugins are on/off, out of focus, and the mouse cursor is not hovering over them.

Before the playback I can press the spacebar and it will work, but during the playback when I need to stop it, the spacebar doesn't work anymore.

I don't have external hardware to control the station, so I can't avoid this problem.

This is indeed strange. That doesn't happen to me. Maybe another tool like screen capturing or something similar is interfering. Support will probably have to think about where this comes from.

Are you using Mixcraft 10.5 build 618? Is there a series of steps I could take to get this to happen without any plugin interfaces open?

Build 618.
It happens very randomly. Then after 5-10 minutes, then after 5 hours. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all and everything works fine. It's hard for me to say how you can reproduce this in your own, but I have a suspicion that it happens specifically with a chain of enabled plugins.

It's very common for this to happen with plugin interfaces open because of the focus issue that has already been mentioned. And of course, it's possible that some program running in the background could steal focus from Mixcraft.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. Sure. During playback in mixcraft, when I switch to another program or search for some preset within a vst plugin in mx, the spacebar doesn't work.
If most of the problems were only due to background apps causing the defocus, then I wouldn't have the whole keyboard in mx working at all.
It's not that the focus is shifted to other apps, it's that there's some problem within the station itself or in a certain chain of plugins/presets that somehow affect the play/stop operation in mx.
Before playback I can press the spacebar and it will work, but during playback, when I need to stop it, the spacebar doesn't work, even when I have all background apps turned off (browser,OBS, etc) and only one mx running.
I'll say it again. It happens randomly and not systematically, so it's hard for me to establish what the main cause is.
I wouldn't say that this is any major obstacle for me, just thought I'd report it here, for I've encountered it back in a previous build.
