iZotope RX11 Standard

Post by jwarv »

Hi,

Does anybody else have the subject program? I tried to run the Spectral Editor in Mixcraft and got the message: Spectral Editor ARA is not available for this host." Is that a Mixcraft limitation or an RX limitation? Or a me limitation?

Hi,

We support ARA for Melodyne, but not other plugins at this time. ARA is what allows Melodyne to be integrated into Mixcraft's sound tab.

The way I understand it, it's basically a RX-limitation (in addition to Mixcraft only supporting Melodyne at this point anyway). Originally ARA was only available in Logic, and now it's also in Pro Tools and Studio One.

That being said, you can of course also use the RX plugins in any other host, just not via the combining Spectral Editor interface.

Yes, I see that the individual RX plug-ins work in Mixcraft. Which can be useful for less surgical edits.

hi,

Though this may not be helpful for getting the RX 11 spectral analyzer working as you'd hope, there are some free options that may let you perform the audio surgery you are looking for.

It's been a while since I've used it but I believe Ghost from Blue Lab Audio will allow the frequency editing a spectral analyzer can provide. If you use the capture mode, it can capture playback from the track and you can edit the specific area you captured. There's also a standalone module with which you can edit waveforms independently from the DAW.

The beta plugins were the latest versions before blue labs took its website down. From what I remember they work but there's a possibility some of the functionality isn't tested as they are beta. You can probably find the not beta versions as well. A note: if you click on the help icon on the plugin and don't close the help PDF when you are done with it, the plugins will crash when you open them. The standalone too. This drove me crazy until I figured it out.

Cool, thanks. I've barely tapped into the RX standalone. Need to deep dive the tutorial pool. It's a whole new world. 🪐
