I have Windows Vista machine, 1.8 ghz single processor, and 1.5g of RAM. Because I am having difficulties recording will playing back even one previously recorded track (beeps, pops, delays in playback, etc.) This makes recording with Mixcraft impossible. I am wondering if my machine is simply not powerful enough.
Is there a recommended minimum configuration to be able to record one track while playing back another?
Is there a minimum computer system configuration?

The minimum system requirements are on the product download page, although your machine does meet them, there are many other factors to consider.
You will need to close all other running applications, update your video and audio drivers, close resource hogging effects like the windows side bar and themes.
There are some tweaking tutorials here http://www.demondigital.com/backstage/tutorials.php
