Personally I was quite impressed with the intro

Thanks a lot
I´m very happy with the song myself, but I can´t take all the credit for the intro... I was a bit (ehum...) "inspired" by Iggy Pops "Living on the edge of the world". I didn´t plan to be that much "inspired" but it was just the intro the song needed, so thanks to Iggy
Thanks again, always great to hear someones oppinion, what ever it may be.
Best regards/

Hey M@rkus,
Nice song there! It has a real Tom Petty / Dire Straits vibe to it. Great intro too. From a sound quality perspective, it's really clear and open sounding. If anything I would say it might be slightly too bright. It could be just the tambourine or symbols coming out a bit too much. Maybe you need some compression there. I can't pinpoint it. I also think the vocal volume might be a bit inconsistent in areas and could be a bit louder. You have a unique and interesting voice.
Really great job overall though. I'm curious to understand your process a bit more. How much of this is real instruments versus midi?
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks a lot for the comment and suggestions.
Yes, It might be a bit too bright, and I will not mix my next song quite that bright. The reason for me to try to mix the song a little too trebley is that my strings on bass/el. and acoustic guitars are very, very (I mean very...) dead. I haven´t changed them in years. After I finished this song I actually bought new strings to the electric guitar, and I put the bass strings in red liquer over night (can´t afford to buy new ones). They must be at least 10 years old now.
The vocal was a bit tricky to mix, since I go from low g/a to an octave higher. My voice isn´t that strong in the lower register, so I don´t get the power I need to cut through in the mix. The drums are some old drum samples I found on my computer, from 2008 I think, don´t know where I got them from.
I used some midi pads at the beginning of the song, the tamburine is a sample, as is the drum sidestick. I play electric and acoustic guitar/bass/keyboard (very badly).
But, after 45 years of music makeing I still struggle with the mixing process (not to mention the actual playing process, I cheat as much as I can...)
Thanks again for commenting and listening.
Cheers/
