In this version, the presets of some VST3 plugins (.vstpresets), when not built-in, still do not appear in the Mixcraft drop menu where the presets of VST2 plugins appear. But, after eight years of complaints in this forum, the .vstpreset format is already recognized and there is now a way to access and use easily the presets, replacing the drop menu with Windows Explorer. This problem is especially evident with the Plugin Alliance collection.
How to solve:
1. In the VST3 plugin, click on the "Load VST Preset File" button in the top right corner. The plugin's own folder or another appears without presets. Wait...
2. Look for the right folder, identified by the plugin name in one of three paths, starting with the first one, where the largest number of presets are:
- > C:\...\Documents\VST3 Presets\Plugin Alliance\[Folder: Plugin's name]
> C:\ProgramData\VST3 Presets\Plugin Alliance\[Folder: Plugin's name]
> C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\VST3 Presets\Plugin Alliance\[Folder: Plugin's name]
(The three "VST3 Presets" folders may contain subfolders with presets from other developers.)
4. Next time, click on "Load VST Preset File" button and choose the preset you like. The Windows Explorer list then will replace the drop menu used in Mixcraft with VST2 plugins and with some VST3's (like Lindell or ADPTR, for example).
>> The "Zero.vstpreset" preset is used to restore the default.
