I'm pretty sold on mixcraft home studio as a first time "musician" (attempting at any rate), a total and complete music noob with decades of PC experience. The choices are beyond endless as regards DAW and it's the most difficult choice I've made with software in many years.
I just want to make sure I'm making the right choice given the hardware and my lack of DAW experience.
The laptop I've dedicated to this is an Win 11 Ideapad 1, with 4 gigs of ram, 256 gig SSD, Intel i5. It's never had an issue running any software, even racing simulators. I do run most system folders (docs, downloads, pics, video) on a SDXC card which really cuts down on the load. If I have to buy another laptop, that's fine.
With my initial foray into MIDI, I've gone with a USB Soundblaster 3 which actually solved all my issues with MIDI and being able to record them - I did install ASIO4all which really fixed things.

Hi,
There’s no trial version of Home Studio, but you can download Mixcraft 10 Recording Studio and see how it works for you: https://store.acoustica.com/downloads/m ... -installer
