when i burn on to cd i get a pause in between tracks
how can i fix that?

Go into the CD burning preferences and choose something besides "IMAPI."

What is the meaning of an error code
"IMAPI_E_MEDIUM_INVALIDTYPE"
Got that when I tried to burn a CD from an LP recording in .wav format.

That means that IMAPI is not working for you. Try switching to the Primo burning engine.
