voice shaping?

Post by kr236rk »

hi,

i have a crap voice! :-o

[lol]

idea!

if i record my voice say in 'E' can i shape or stretch that E an octave higher or lower please?

is there a limit - can i take that 'ahh' in E and bend it up into F or down into D?

can i record a bank of 'ahh's singing in harmony by multitracking them in MC5?

there's pre-recorded software loops of pro singers out there from modest to ridiculous price ranges, what is stopping us MixCrafters creating our own vocal/choral audio banks modelled on our own or friends' voices please?

are there also plug-ins which can help with voice shaping?

thanks ;)

Hi,

You can change the key of your voice in Mixcraft using track markers or the Sound tab (if you have the clip selected).

There's also the GSnap effect, which is similar to Auto-Tune by Antares.

Thanks Greg, this sounds cool. Are there any MC5 pictures or videos which show this?

thanks - will look forward to the video + check out the youtube :) i can alter the voice clip by a) length and by b) semi-tones now. that is a beginning. can also shape the voice to some extent in MC effects; am to experiment further (externally) with Kaos Pad.

one problem is 'timbre' i think it is - have a nasal voice 'fingerprint' and at the moment that nasal twang persists whatever i do; what i want is a neutral timbre

also have a Yamaha keyboard with various 'choral' effects - this might be another avenue to explore in concert with MixCraft?

bests

Since Angelina is freeware, why don't you just use it in Mixcraft right now?

Has anyone been able to download angelina? As far as I can tell it was removed from the link posted above.

Hi,

Install it, unzip it or whatever to your VST folder. If your computer didn't have a default VST folder, Mixcraft may have created one here: C:\Program Files\VST\

You can also add a VST folder to search in Mixcraft's Effects preferences.

angelina 1.1

downloaded at

this is a really nice VST addition - you have to be careful with shifting the pitch in MC5 though or you create a micky mouse voice effect, but there seem to be almost infinite things you can do with the voice to shape it the way you want, in my case sort of 'heavenly choir' sort of thing ... at the moment i've ended up with gregorian chant in sci-fi but it's getting there, it has moved forward to where i want it to be :)

cool / thanks
