Why does this sound so bad?

Post by tsunalight »

I got pianissimo because i was interested in a better sounding piano than the ones provided with mixcraft.

Pianissimo doesn't sound as good! I don't know why but all of the presets sound awfully unbalaned in terms of EQ, and for some reason even with reverb on 0 i still hear reverb, even with i have no track fx or global fx on. What the hell?

Also i'm noticing clipping, not when i slam down on the keyboard but even just playing a few chords with my left hand. It sounds like the volume is up to high, causing the quality to drop? What happened?

For some reason i can't get pianissimo to sound as good as Stereo Grand Piano, the preset that comes with mixcraft 5.

Hi,

Are you using it in Mixcraft or some other DAW? Have you tried the standalone version? Does that sound the same?

Sounds like maybe your soundcard software has some effects on it. Open it up and look for any effects or room settings, a lot of them have some funky stuff that's not great at all for recording or playback when using DAW's.
